Reporting to the Senior R&D Manager the successful candidate will play an integral part in co-developing with partners novel cutting-edge therapeutic technologies based on our biopolymer platform hyaluronic acid.The position is to cover a maternity leave for 1 year but due to expected expansion, this position is likely to become permanent.ChallengesYou will be responsible for the formulation and application of diverse pharmaceutical products using our biopolymer technology platforms. This position is integral to the successful development and commercialization of our cGMP biopolymer product pipeline candidates. Major duties and primary responsibilities include:support the identification and development of new opportunities supporting Novozymes Biopharma´s strategy, leading to commercially viable proprietary formulation and technologies, either stand-alone or stemming from the current technology platforms. conduct experiments and studies using our biopolymer technology platforms in order to build-up a formulation profile for biopolymers (sodium hyaluronate and its modified forms) including compatibility studies. perform these formulation and application activities within strict timelines to successfully meet internal and partner program milestones. assume the lead role in the R&D-related aspects of formulations and applications of biopolymers by evaluating the performance of Novozymes’ biopolymers within specific biomedical and pharmaceutical applications. design investigational studies and ensure method and knowledge transfer to partners. responsible for updating SOPs and training other lab personnel on procedural changes related to formulation work. assist with drafting, review, and approval of laboratory SOPs and maintain an accurate lab notebook and record of lab work and results. support industrial and academic partners and follow-up on results from these external collaborations. support Sales and Marketing with applications-related activities. QualificationsPharmacist and/or Ph.D. in formulation technologies with a minimum of 2-4 years’ industry experience in pharmaceutical formulations in a cGMP pharmaceutical or medical device environment.Demonstrated track record in pharmaceutical formulation and applications development, preferably in a customer-driven environment. Knowledge of cGMP, ICH is preferred.Strong leadership, effective oral and written English communication skills and experience presenting data to a technical audience is required.We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic and diligent person, willing to work with various persons with different backgrounds and to support diverse projects.
